The Protecting America Initiative, a coalition of concerned Americans and public policy experts dedicated to combating the growing influence of Communist China in the United States, today launched a new digital ad urging state legislators to follow President Trump’s lead in cracking down against illicit vapes produced in Communist China that are being sold illegally in America.

The ad reminds viewers that Trump in 2019 was right about the dangers of illicit Chinese vapes and of Biden’s failure to protect Americans from these unregulated illicit products. It also details how states need to stand with President Trump and take action against illicit Chinese vapes.

“President Trump warned us years ago about the threat of illicit Chinese vapes and while Biden was asleep at the wheel, they flooded the country,” said Rich Marianos of the Tobacco Law Enforcement Network, a former Special Agent for the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms (ATF).

“If our state leaders don’t step up enforcement now, China and the cartels will continue targeting our kids and using the cash to fund their sinister operations.”

According to the CDC, the rate of youth smoking cigarettes is now at an all-time low, but youth usage of illicit Chinese vapes has drastically increased since 2020.

The spot, “Trump was Right,” is backed by a five-figure buy and will run on digital platforms in targeted markets across the country.

The group spent over $500,000 on advertising targeting suburban women across Michigan, North Carolina, and Pennsylvania this fall hammering Joe Biden for his failure to stop the threat of illicit Chinese vapes and urging state leaders to fill the leadership void on the issue. They also hosted President Donald J. Trump in September at a roundtable with Pennsylvania farmers on the need to combat the growing influence of the Chinese Communist Party on America’s agriculture industry and food supply.

Polling in August showed an overwhelming majority of Americans are concerned about the CCP’s threat to the United States' national security, food security, infrastructure, higher education, and influence over our elected officials.

If you ask Rep. Jeff Van Drew (R-N.J.) this absence was unexcused.

"He wasn't at a world summit for world peace — I mean he was at a Democratic convention, basically an association of Democratic governors who were probably working on ways to make more Democratic governors," Rep. Van Drew said.

"It would have been a nice symbol if he came back and said, You know what? Everything's going to be OK. I want to personally review the infrastructure myself, see what the team has done," Van Drew said. "And then he could have gotten back to the convention, the association that he was at.”

FOX News indicated that the quake might have been felt by more than 42 million people in 14 states from Maine to North Carolina. More than two-dozen aftershocks have been felt since with more than 152,000 Americans reported feeling shaking to the USGS.

On Saturday, the governor wrote on X that the state's emergency operations center was deactivated on Saturday morning. The rest of his X feed were merely retweets.

The Colts Neck Republican Committee responded saying Petracca was “acting like some unbiased Colts Neck Republican citizen….upset about the truth of Vin Gopal’s record for our families.” Gopal is locked in a contentious election against political newcomer Steve Dnistrian hot on the heels of a major upset victory.

Senator Gopal has come under fire for his role in sponsoring the adoption of the ghastly sex-ed curriculum, and for calling the concerns of parents “made up”.

Whether Petracca took Gopal and his brand of politics into account when he made the endorsement is unknown, however most members of the Colts Neck community feel that this was not the best play for Source.

When interviewing Colts Neck residents about Source’s endorsement, one woman said “they can support whoever they want, but they need to understand that some people may feel differently and take their money elsewhere.” A self-described former “political agnostic” said that things changed once “democrats started going after our kids.”

“How can any business support someone like Gopal,” she lamented. “He’s the source of all of this here. “Did [Petracca] not think of what this is saying to Colts Neck families?”

One gentleman said that it was a “shame” that a place that should be “devoid of politics and focused on bring the community together” has decided to enter the political fray. Another, a registered Democrat, did not care about Petracca’s Facebook comments when shown, but did say that “they’re going the way of Bud Light.”

Citing the marketing campaign between Anheuser-Busch and transgender celebrity Dylan Mulvaney the gentleman said that “they should expect some backlash,” but “it’s their own damn fault for bringing it on themselves.”

Petracca could not be reached for comment despite multiple attempts by CJN.

While the tragedy of that day and our community’s trauma was the subject of non-stop news coverage, so was Central Jersey’s resolve. Neighbor embraced neighbor at funerals and memorials. Some heeded the call to serve their country. People let go of how they voted, what church they attended, or what tax bracket they fall into and simply— indeed, naturally — served their neighbors.

We lifted each other up when we were in the pit of national despair. Not many states, probably even a handful, can say they did that.

CJN was moved to hear that the Monmouth County Commissioners approved a resolution declaring September 11th, 2023 a county holiday, making it the first county to do so.

“We all made the pledge to never forget that day,” said Commissioner Director Tom Arnone in a video message where he called on local, state, and federal leaders to join them in acknowledging the holiday.
