Bashaw, Fegler torch Democrats supporting illegal sex offenders
The political newcomers held nothing back.
Senate hopeful Rep. Andy Kim (D-3rd) and Rep. Frank Pallone (D-6th) are drawing heat from their Republican challengers for their votes against deporting illegal migrants who commit sex crimes.
A bill by Rep. Nancy Mace (R- S. Carolina), The Violence Against Women by Illegal Aliens Act, would deport or deem inadmissible to the country undocumented immigrants who have been convicted of, or admit to having committed, sex offenses, domestic violence, stalking, child abuse or violating a protection order.
Pallone and Kim joined 156 other Democrats in their votes against the bill, and their Republican challengers took them to task.
“The Democrats have made it clear that they don’t care about our border and the threat illegal migration poses to our communities—but to go so far as to protect pedophiles, rapists, and abusers is beyond the pale,” said Scott Fegler, Republican challenger to Frank Pallone.
“Judge them by their votes,” Fegler added. “If they are putting illegal migrant sex offenders before law abiding citizens, then they need to be kicked out of Congress.”
Curtis Bashaw, Republican candidate for U.S. Senate who earlier this month released an ad knocking Rep. Kim over his stance on the border, shared the same sentiments.
“It’s shocking to me that Andy Kim would vote against deporting and banning migrants who are rapists, pedophiles and murderers of women and kids,” said Bashaw.
“Andy Kim voted against securing our borders and can’t be trusted to keep New Jersey families safe. That’s why every major law enforcement organization has endorsed my candidacy for United States Senate.”
Recently, both Fegler and Bashaw received the endorsement of the Fraternal Order of the Police, with the latter also receiving an endorsement from the Police Benevolent Association.
Earlier this year, CJN partnered with Assemblyman Paul Kanitra (R-10th) to cover his trip to the US-Mexico border to investigate how the border crisis affects the Garden State.
A report from the Assemblyman revealed that:
Between 7.52% and 8.13% of New Jersey residents were here illegally in 2023
$15.7 million dollars spent defending illegal aliens in court in 2023
$366 million in benefits for illegal migrants
$7.3 Billion dollars to care for over 892,000 illegal migrants in 2024
Both Bashaw and Fegler have made securing the border and restoring law and order a key part of their respective platforms. Voters will have the opportunity to send the political newcomers to Washington this November.
