CJN Founder: Join me in Atlantic City!
You're invited to join parental rights leaders and myself at the NJGOP State Leadership Summit
CJN started with a simple mission: provide coverage of local and state news that everyone can understand and learn from. Admittedly, there was a part of me that knew this was going to take off at an unexpected moment, so the best way to be prepared was to, as they say, expect the unexpected.
Since our start in June of last year, we have grown to over 35,000 subscribers, have broken major headlines, and have begun an investigations section that holds those in power to account.
The real launchpad for CJN? The parental rights movement.
When we covered the Middletown Board of Education for the first time, I was blown away by what transpired — not just by the content, but by the outcry. Hate mail towards our reporters (which is why they now report anonymously), attacks on our domain, hate mail to Substack — all because we reported the facts and showed what transpired, from protests to testimonies.
Since then, we covered the Colts Neck Board of Education, the Middletown Board of Education race, lawsuits from a weaponized Attorney General, various grassroots efforts, and an investigation into the controversial Policy 5756 which produced a fact sheet commissioned by a very generous donor.
Now, thanks to the New Jersey Republican Party and Executive Director Theresa Velardi, CJN gets to tell its story to activists, politicos, and supporters from across the state.
It is indeed an honor to deliver remarks and moderate a panel of the faces and fighters behind the great civil rights movement of our time: the right to parent children and raise a family.
The panel, entitled “Power to the Parents,” consists of:
Shawn Hyland - Executive Director of the New Jersey Family Policy Center
Assemblyman Gerry Scharfenberger - Legislative District 13
Alexandra Bougher - Chairwoman of the Bergen County Chapter of Moms for Liberty
Nikki Stouffer - a leading grassroots advocate and founder of the New Jersey Project
President Frank Capone - President of the Middletown Board of Education and contributor to CJN
The panel will be from 3:00 - 3:45 PM on Friday, March 8th at Harrah’s. I want to meet all of you and thank you in person for your readership and your support over the last year.
More importantly, I want you to meet this distinguished panel of devoted parents and leaders.
Friends, this panel is one to behold - each and every one of these folks is incredibly esteemed and has a story to tell - and, at the expense of bragging, will be the can’t-miss panel of the summit.
Taxes get raised and lowered, spending increases and decreases, public programs come and go - but the right to raise a family is the ultimate blessing, whether you believe it stems from absolute liberty enshrined in our Constitution or the Almighty.
Beating Democrats at early voting and vote-by-mail is important, so is fundraising and candidate recruitment - but without this sacred right, and equipping those to protect it, civilization itself falls apart.
I sincerely hope to meet you, thank you, and ensure you walk away inspired and better equipped to take up the cause of fighting for our families.
