DUDE, where's that county? Glassner mistakes two must-win counties in letter to voters
The newest mishap from the Mendham Mayor can't be blamed on the mailman.
Monmouth/Ocean Counties - While most copywriters make frequent use of spellcheck, it seems like one Senate candidate’s team needs to also consult a map.
A letter targeting county committee members in Monmouth was sent by Christine Serrano-Glassner seeking their support at the county convention - but in Ocean County. Both counties have their respective conventions on the same night. The letter, addressed to “Monmouth County Republican,” says that the former Mendham Mayor looks forward to “meeting [them] at the Ocean County Republican Convention.”
The letter flub is the latest misstep by the Glassner campaign who was recently the subject of a plagiarism scandal, where voters discovered that her campaign website was copied almost verbatim from the website of popular Ohio Republican and Trump acolyte, Senator J.D. Vance. Her failed punch at fellow candidate Curtis Bashaw on his ties to China also made headlines after it was revealed by the NJ Globe that Bashaw divested from a Manhattan development project that involved China State Construction Engineering in 2019.
Bashaw’s lockdown on Cape May and Atlantic counties and Glassner’s sweep in Hunterdon, Union, and Morris make both Monmouth and Ocean conventions make-or-break for Bashaw, Glassner, and former News12 reporter Alex Zdan.
All three candidates will be making their final pitches to Monmouth voters at a candidate forum in Hazlet on Wednesday, the night before Monmouth’s convention.
