In Memoriam: Dave Carver, Jersey Patriot
A grassroots titan, Carver leaves New Jersey a better, more honest place.
It’s difficult to have hope in New Jersey — a democratic supermajority, a governor forever chasing Gavin Newsome’s coattails, and an affordability crisis pricing people out of existence.
None of this seemed to phase Dave Carver - and if there was ever anyone totally devoted to his mission, it was Dave.
A Madison native, Dave was senior pharmaceutical executive whose nearly three decades of experience in federally regulated data and software unveiled his gift for spotting irregularities. While others look at an excel sheet or pivot tables with anxiety, Dave believed data told a story - and what he found gave him life after the unimaginable happened.
After a fall that left him paralyzed from the neck down, Carver’s grit and positivity expanded while others’ would have depleted entirely. (Truth be told, he probably worked out harder than all of us who pretend we don’t regularly curse the gym). Although he was confined to a chair, Dave became a giant in the Garden State when it came to election integrity, where his knack for data and love for country shined.
The Federalist’s Cleta Mitchell, the Founder of the Election Integrity Network, paid great homage to her friend:
Dave, a self-described computer and data geek, assembled an amazing group of fellow “geeks” who developed sophisticated systems for obtaining, reviewing, analyzing, and correcting voter data in New Jersey’s 21 counties. Dave and his fellow volunteers established working relationships with county election administrators across the state. By approaching them with a “we are here to help” attitude, the team has been successful in working with the counties to identify and remove thousands of registrations that should no longer be on New Jersey’s voter rolls.
The elites snarled at folks like Dave, ordinary citizens who simply wanted to more honest voting process - the cornerstone of our republic. CBS News in particular penned an essay masked as some in-depth investigation making folks like Dave to be fringe, tin foil hat-donning simpletons who walk the line between conspiracy and coincidence.
Nevertheless, Dave stuck to the mission. He established a multi-partisan team that kept its mission at the forefront. Their mission remains after his passing. Former Senator and 2025 GOP candidate Ed Durr reflected on his late friend:
I was very fortunate to have gotten to know Dave over the last couple years. He was a friend and ally in our struggle to fix New Jersey. Dave worked tirelessly to bring reform to New Jersey's election laws. He provided detailed information that will be surely missed. But beyond Dave's efforts to bring election integrity to New Jersey, Dave was a kind and gentle soul and the world will not be the same without him….I pray for his family and only hope that we can bring Dave's dream to reality one day.

Dave’s mission isn’t new. It is indeed another chapter in the American epic, first forged by the risk-takers who pledged their lives, fortunes, and sacred honor that hot summer in Philadelphia which gave birth to our nation. New Jersey still has innovators like Monmouth County Clerk Christine Hanlon, another fearless election integrity advocate who developed a state-of-the-art app.
Dave’s legacy is found in the hearts of countless volunteers across the Garden State, who lend their time, talent, and treasure in pursuit of more perfect union - a republic that they indeed endeavor to keep, per Benjamin Franklin’s timeless adage.
Here’s to you, Dave Carver: a man who, despite tragedy and a state slipping away from its better self, was a man of hope and action. Surely good St. Peter has found no finer assistant as Dave is surely assisting in the heavenly rolls.
