Middlesex and Burlington leaders stand with Clifton and Sauickie
GOP party leaders and elected officials throw support behind the LD-12 incumbents.
Old Bridge - Assemblymen Rob Clifton (R-Matawan) and Alex Sauickie (R-Jackson) announced today that they will seek re-election to the 12th legislative district Assembly seats in 2025 with the support of an extensive list of GOP county and municipal chairs, and Republican elected officials at all levels across their Burlington and Middlesex County districts.
Clifton is a six-term lawmaker, with Sauickie finishing his first full term since winning a special election in 2022 to complete the term of Assemblyman Ron Dancer (R-Plumsted) who passed away while in office. Sauickie had the endorsement of Dancer’s widow Brenda and won against two other candidates with 69% of the vote.
On the heels of President Trump’s historic win and performance in New Jersey, Clifton and Sauickie said they are “more energized than ever” to continue their work in the legislature.
“Our communities, families, and especially seniors face many challenges – from high costs including sky rocketing utility bills, reckless policies threatening the overdevelopment of our communities, to ever increasing taxes that are strangling small businesses and families,” said Clifton. “I am seeking reelection to continue my track record of fighting against these extreme policies and to put people before reckless ideology.”
“The additional support of both Burlington and Middlesex County Chairmen rounds out the support from all four counties we represent,” Sauickie said. “As your representative, I work to deliver real results for our community – from legislation signed into law to preserve farmland, to ensuring our schools get their fair share of funding, to backing our veterans and men and women in blue, to fixing our roads and bridges. I am more excited than ever for the campaign ahead and another term fighting for common sense.”
Heading the Clifton & Sauickie extensive endorsement list in Burlington and Middlesex Counties are:
Burlington County Republican Chairman Sean Earlen, Middlesex County Republican Chairman Rob Bengivenga, State Senator Owen Henry represents both counties, North Hanover Mayor Ronald DeBaecke, Old Bridge Mayor Karen Walker as well as Council VP & Municipal Chairwoman Dr. Anita Greenberg-Belli.
