Rep. Smith on Ørsted Bailout: "This is just the beginning..."

WASHINGTON, D.C. - Rep. Chis Smith (NJ-4th), whose district covers Monmouth and Ocean Counties, slammed Gov. Murphy’s tax break for Danish offshore wind company Ørsted. The controversial program that was a key issues in the tense 2024 budget negotiations has been labeled a “bailout” by Republicans in Trenton and Washington.
“Frankly, we have a situation where they hide the ball,” said Rep Smith on The Story with Martha MacCallum.
“In this case, the estimate that was done by the General Assembly…they said they got no analysis whatsoever from the Governor as to how much this would cost.”
