Sheriff Golden visits Army National Guard before Middle East deployment
"We support our military service personnel - full stop" emphasizes Monmouth's top cop in speech
Freehold, NJ - Residents and families, joined by the Monmouth County Sheriff’s Office, packed the Freehold Armory to send off New Jersey Army National Guardsman deploying to the Middle East.
”Thank you for your service and thank you to all of your family members. Your service and your sacrifice is appreciated beyond words,” said Shaun Golden before the guardsmen and their families. “You represent the best of New Jersey and America in your bravery, and we will always support you.”
The farewell ceremony for 44th Infantry Brigade Combat Team was held on January 14, 2024. More than 1,500 soldiers will deploy in support of U.S. Central Command’s Combined Joint Task Force - Operation Inherent Resolve.
It is the largest deployment of New Jersey Army National Guard Soldiers since 2008. They will be deployed for a one year mission.
