Highlands Borough delivered the following update this morning at approximately 9am on the borough website:
The main repair was completed last night and our water quality teams mobilized swiftly to collect the necessary samples into the early morning hours. It takes approximately 24 hours to get results. We anticipate to have an update on the boil water advisory early Saturday, April 20, 2024. Please continue to boil water until you are notified that the boil water advisory is lifted. New Jersey American Water will update impacted customers when the advisory has been lifted via the company's alerts notification system.
Multiple residents contacted CJN advising of intermittent water shutoffs and potential contaminants in the water, one resident sending pictures of what looks like an oily substance.
