WATCH: Gov. Murphy BOOED by concertgoers in Red Bank
Gov. Murphy makes a quick exit once the booing erupts from the crowd in the deep blue town.
RED BANK - Gov. Murphy made what seems to be a surprise appearance at an event with local music group Brian Kirk and the Jirks. Murphy, a riverside resident of Middletown right across from Red Bank was not a welcome interruption.
A frustrated Kirk orders the crowd to not boo. “This is not about politics,” he sternly says.
"He’s a buddy of mine…do not do that, out of respect for my friend.”
The Red Bank crowd did not seem to be on the same page as the bandleader and carried on while Murphy made for a fast exit.
